MARIETTA, OH – Looking to learn a new skill or explore a career in welding? The Washington County Career Center – Adult Technical Training is offering a NO-COST, five-week Welding Boot Camp beginning January 12, with funding provided by GRIT (Growing Rural Independence Together).

This hands-on training opportunity is designed to introduce participants to the fundamentals of welding while helping them build valuable skills that can lead to future employment opportunities in the manufacturing and industrial workforce.

The five-week program will focus on MIG (Gas Metal Arc) welding, including equipment setup and operation, the use of solid and flux-core wire, industrial safety, and equipment maintenance. Upon completion, participants will have the opportunity to test for an American Welding Society (AWS) certification.

And the best part? There is no cost to participate! Thanks to funding provided by GRIT, students will receive the training and all the necessary welding gear, including a welding helmet, gloves, boots, and welding jacket.

"This is a great opportunity for someone who has thought about learning to weld but wasn't sure where to start," said representatives of The Career Center. "Whether you're exploring a new career path or simply looking to build your skills, this boot camp is a great first step."
