Digital Impact Training Series

The Washington County Career Center – Adult Technical Training is excited to offer our Digital Impact Series!  A hands-on / in-person training series designed to help businesses grow, strengthen their brand, and show up confidently online. 

Whether you’re just getting started or ready to level up your digital presence, these sessions are built to give you practical tools you can use right away.

Classes will be led by Kristin Meeks, owner of WV Social Media. She is a trainer, consultant, and keynote speaker who has helped hundreds of clients through thousands of training hours, making social media simple and effective for small businesses and nonprofits from West Virginia to Florida—and everywhere in between.

Google Business: Get Found Where It Matters

Learn how to claim, optimize, and manage your Google Business Profile to increase visibility in local search results. This class covers best practices for business information, photos, reviews, posts, and insights—helping customers find you, trust you, and choose you. Ideal for small businesses looking to boost local SEO and foot traffic.

Please bring a laptop, with downloaded photos, access to email and phone (if applicable). 

Canva 2.0: Advanced Design for Marketing & Branding

Take your Canva skills to the next level in this advanced, hands-on class designed for users who already know the basics. Learn how to create cohesive brand kits, advanced layouts, animated graphics, Canva AI, websites, and reusable templates. This session also covers design best practices, content batching, collaboration tools, and efficiency tips to help you produce high-quality marketing materials faster and more consistently across platforms.

Please bring your laptop and download photos and videos of past events, specials, and products. 

Video: Create, Edit & Publish Engaging Short-Form Content

📅 April 16 | 9–11 AM

Learn how to plan, film, edit, and publish engaging video content using easy-to-learn software like Canva, CapCut and iMovie. This hands-on class covers shooting with your phone, basic lighting and framing, editing clips, adding text and captions, transitions, music, and exporting for platforms like Instagram Reels, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts. Perfect for businesses and organizations looking to create professional-looking videos without expensive equipment or complex software.

Please bring a laptop, phone/tablet. Downloaded Apps: Canva, Capcut, and iMovie (if an iPhone user) prior to class. Saved videos/music of things you like for your business will also be helpful during this class to have on hand. 

AI for Content Creation: Work Smarter, Not Harder

📅 May 7 | 9–11 AM

Explore how AI tools can streamline your marketing and content creation process. This class introduces practical ways to use AI for writing captions, generating ideas, repurposing content, creating images, and saving time—while keeping your brand voice authentic. No access to paid software required.

Please bring your laptop, downloaded photos, list of events, specials, or products you want help creating content for traditional and nontraditional distribution.
