Career Center Names Students of the Month : September 2026

The Washington County Career Center honors its September Students of the Month, Gracie and Cole.

Gracie is a Warren senior enrolled in the Pre-Nursing program, and she is the daughter of Randy and Anna of Cutler.

At the Career Center, Gracie is a member of the SkillsUSA youth organization. She was on the Career Center’s honor roll all last school year.

Through College Credit Plus (CCP), Gracie has earned or will earn credits in American national government, English composition I, speech, and statistics. Through her technical program, she has earned college credit or industrial certifications for introduction to nutrition, medical terminology, certified nursing assistant (CNA), stop the bleed, and CPR/first aid. Gracie took summer CCP courses to complete her academic requirements for senior year. In doing so, she qualified to begin the Practical Nursing program at the Career Center’s Adult Technical Training. This will allow her to train and become certified as an LPN by the time she graduates in May 2027.

At Warren High School, Gracie was active in softball as well as the travel club. She was a member of FFA and showed goats at the fairs. She is a member of the Warren Chapel Church where her grandfather is the pastor and teaches Sunday school to the youth. Pre-Nursing instructor, Amy Jarrell, commented, “Gracie is a fantastic role model for not only her high school peers, but she also has proven to be for the adults in the Practical Nursing program. She has an outstanding work ethic, great attendance, strong leadership skills, and is very kind to everyone.”

Gracie currently is employed at Belpre Landing as a CNA. Upon graduation, she plans to attend either Washington State College of Ohio or Ohio University to become an RN in addition to working in the health field as an LPN.

Cole is a Waterford senior enrolled in the Graphic Design & Video Production program, and he is the son of Eric and Jenine of Lowell.

At the Career Center, Cole is a member of the Business Professionals of America (BPA) youth organization. He was class historian last year for his technical program. He was on the Career Center’s honor roll or merit roll all last school year. In March 2026, Cole participated in the BPA state competition for extemporaneous speech. At Waterford High School, he was active in golf, track and field, Pep Club, Student Council, and yearbook. Outside of school, he was a member of 4H for eight years.

Through CCP, Cole has earned or will earn credits in American national government, chemistry, college algebra, English composition I, and statistics. Through his technical program, he has or will earn college credit or industrial certifications for the Adobe Creative Cloud software in 2D Animation, Audio Production, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Digital Photography, Digital Storytelling, Fundamentals of Content Creation, Graphic Design, Live Streaming and Production, and Video Production & Editing. He is receiving technical focus and learning skills for creating & editing digital graphics, design techniques, information technology, multimedia & image management techniques, and video & sound. Graphic Design & Video Production instructor, Chris Palmer, commented, “Cole is a standout senior who brings a wonderfully positive attitude and vibrant energy to my program daily.”

Cole currently is employed with Qdoba as a crew member. He plans to attend Bowling Green State University to major in forensic science.
