The Washington County Career Center honors its October Students of the Month, Harlee and Randall “Cole”.
Harlee is a Warren senior enrolled in the Patient Health Care program, and she is the daughter of Mark and Lisa of Fleming.
At the Career Center, Harlee is a member of the SkillsUSA youth organization, Interact Club and Students Solving Problems (SSP). She holds the office of President for her technical program and was elected as the Co-Vice President for the Interact Club last school year. As a Student Ambassador, she is responsible for acting as a liaison between the Career Center and Warren High School. In addition, she is gaining leadership skills by promoting the Career Center during its recruitment process as well as giving tours and guidance at scheduled events and with incoming visitors. Harlee has received awards for the Career Center’s Principal List, Honor Roll and Energy Bus Driver program for meeting all three criteria of 3.0 GPA or higher, 95% attendance or higher, and no office referrals. At Warren, she was active in volleyball, student council and HPAC. Harlee is a member of Warren Chapel United Methodist Church and an active member of the Tunnel Youth Group. In addition, she is a member of Monikeri Imaging Small Team and models for the owner, Keri Seevers. In her technical program, Harlee has earned industry-recognized credentials for Automated External Defibrillator (AED), Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), First Aid, and Stop the Bleed. Through College Credit Plus (CCP), she is taking both high school and college credit classes for American National Government and English Composition. In the Patient Health Care program, Harlee is receiving a technical focus and learning skills for EKG, employability skills, health care career exploration, human anatomy & physiology, human diseases & disorders, human growth & development, infection control & safety, job shadowing, legal & ethical, medical terminology, nursing assistant, nutrition & fitness, phlebotomy, rehabilitation aide, team building, and vital signs. She will sit for the Ohio Department of Health – State Tested Nurse Assistant (STNA) certification this school year.
Patient Health Care instructor, Kim Miller, commented on special traits and roles Harlee carries such as ambitious, compassionate, caring, responsible, hardworking, dedicated and kind. Upon graduation, Harlee plans to attend the Washington State Community College transfer program to become a registered nurse.
Cole is a Warren senior enrolled in the Sports Medicine & Exercise Science program, and he is the son of Randall of Beverly and Jasmine of Cutler.
At the Career Center, Cole is a member of the SkillsUSA youth organization. He has received awards for the Career Center’s Honor Roll, Merit Roll and Energy Bus Driver program for meeting all three criteria of 3.0 GPA or higher, 95% attendance or higher, and no office referrals. At Warren, he is active in football, wrestling and track. In his technical program, Cole has earned or will earn industry-recognized credentials and college credit for Automated External Defibrillator (AED), Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), First Aid, Introduction to Nutrition, Management of Athletic Injuries, Medical Terminology I & II, Resistance Training, and Stop the Bleed. Through College Credit Plus (CCP), he is taking classes for both high school and college credit for College Algebra and English Composition. In April 2021, he will sit for the Physical Therapy Aide Certification (PTAC). In the Sports Medicine & Exercise Science program, Cole is receiving a technical focus and learning skills for anatomy & physiology, biomechanics, employability skills, exercise prescription, fitness assessment, health & physical fitness, injury & disease, medical terminology, rehabilitation treatment, sport & exercise nutrition, and sports psychology.
Sports Medicine & Exercise Science instructor, Lauren Copen, commented on special traits and roles Cole carries such as responsible, accountable, excellent speaker, and a leader amongst his peers. He is employed at Taco Bell in Belpre. Upon graduation, Cole plans to enlist in the United States Air Force and attend college while active.
