The Washington County Career Center announces its Students Solving Problems (SSP) members for the 2025-26 school year.  The purpose of SSP is to engage area students in developing solutions to community health related problems and to provide career development for the engaged youth in the fields of health, behavioral health, philanthropy, and other community support options.  The students are to lead the work and identify the issues that they intend to address.  The adviser, Mrs. Shari, along with other adults, are to support the students during the process.

The Career Center’s SSP Mission Statement:  When schools come together to lead the county as one, the possibilities are endless.  Together we can encourage and influence the youth of Washington County.  We want to spread awareness about various mental health issues, preventing substance abuse, and promoting healthy behaviors.  As a member of SSP, we strive for a better tomorrow.

A few of the many events or activities SSP members will participate in this school year are the HLH fundraiser, Recovery Walk, Men in Pink (breast cancer fundraiser), Recycle the Cheer (donate holiday decorations to the Salvation Army), and Light Up Downtown (hang lights/wreaths on lamp posts in Marietta).
