SkillsUSA Regional Winners Advance to State
Eighteen students from the Washington County Career Center SkillsUSA youth organization will compete at the State competitive events, in Columbus, April 24-25. Those who place at the top of their event here will advance to the National Leadership and Skills Conference, a showcase of career and technical education students, to be held in Louisville, Kentucky, June 25-29. More than 16,000 people – including students, teachers and business partners – are expected to participate in the weeklong event.
Those students who will be competing at the State level are:
Auto Refinishing: Wyatt is a Marietta junior enrolled in the Auto Collision program and he is the son of Sam and Amber of Marietta
Auto Service: Seth is a Warren senior enrolled in the Auto Mechanics program and he is the son of Shelly of Little Hocking
Bailey is a Warren senior enrolled in the Cosmetology program and she is the daughter of William and Heather of Fleming
Cole is a Fort Frye junior enrolled in the Diesel Truck Mechanics program and he is the son of Ray and Christie of Lowell
Electrical Construction Wiring: Justyn is a Marietta senior enrolled in the Electricity program and he is the son of Jimmy and Sarah Bird of Marietta
Heavy Equipment: Spencer is a Marietta junior enrolled in the Heavy Equipment program and he is the son of Joe and Melinda of Marietta; Owen is a Fort Frye senior enrolled in the Heavy Equipment program and he is the son of Jonathon and Jessica of Whipple; Alec is a Fort Frye senior enrolled in the Heavy Equipment program and he is the son of Terry and Kristi of Beverly; Jaron is a Marietta junior enrolled in the Heavy Equipment program and he is the son of Doug and Karen of Marietta; and Braden is a Warren junior enrolled in the Heavy Equipment program and he is the son of Dustin and Amy of Marietta
Industrial Motor Control: Jonathan is a Belpre senior enrolled in the Electricity program and he is the son of Jerrod and Sarah of Belpre
Henry is a Warren senior enrolled in the Masonry program and he is the son of Wayne of Chester
Medical Math: Joshua is a Marietta senior enrolled in the Medical College Prep program and he is the son of Tiffany of Marietta
Medical Terminology: Olivia is a Fort Frye junior enrolled in the Medical College Prep program and she is the daughter of Frank and Jessica of Beverly
Team Works: Kourtney is a Warren junior enrolled in the Masonry program and she is the daughter of Kent of Washington, WV and Dustie of Little Hocking; Benjamin is a Frontier senior enrolled in the Building Technology/Carpentry program and he is the son of William and Cindy of Whipple; Amber is a Belpre junior enrolled in the Electricity program and she is the daughter of Robert of Belpre and Kimberly of Belpre; and Tanner is a Warren senior enrolled in the Building Technology/Carpentry program and he is the son of Crystal of Belpre
