This 40-hour course will train students in the various methods of splicing, terminating, testing, and commissioning of fiber optic cable.

Course Content:
How fiber is used in communications
How a fiber optic link transmits signals
What Components are used in fiber optic cable plants
How fiber optic cables are installed, spliced and terminated
How a fiber optic cable plan or network is tested
How to design a fiber optic network
How different types of fiber optic cable plants are installed
Mechanical splicing of fiber
* This course does not fall within the ACCSC institutional accreditation

After successful course completion students are eligible to sit for the FOA (Fiber Optic association) CFOT—Certified Fiber Optic Technician Certification
