Mr. Elliott’s News Minute

Friday, March 27, 2020

Good Morning Career Center Family,

Happy Friday to everyone. I appreciate the sacrifices made by all of you to do assignments and continue learning via online instruction. Stay healthy and well.

I applaud all of you who are doing your best to practice social distancing.

The Career Center has new hours of operation. The office is now open, daily, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Teachers have been directed to work from home and are available to help students via your student email account. Should you have trouble contacting a teacher, please call the office for assistance. Phone calls to the office are best between 10:00 and 2:00.

HELP YOUR TEACHERS HELP YOU-We’ve already noticed that our teachers and our students have different sleep schedules. We want our teachers to lend assistance to our students, but please remember the time. Teachers can best be contacted during our regular school hours (8:30-3:15).

Did you check out the playlists made by our staff members this week? Thank you

Mr. Lewis and Mrs. White for your selections. On deck will be song favorites from

Mrs. Elfline, Mr. Strahler and Mr. Kittle.

Virtual Fire Drill Today: A great idea from Mrs. O’Connor and Mrs. Snyder:

To raise our spirits and to make us smile, we will be having a virtual fire drill today.

Here’s how it works:

📌Set an alarm on your phone for 2:30 pm today.

📌When the alarm sounds, go outside and soak up some daylight for 10 minutes.

📌Take a selfie.

📌Photos can be sent to our Facebook Inbox or emailed to Mrs. Snyder at lsnyder@thecareercenter.net.

Friday’s Fun Facts:

· In 1884, the first long-distance telephone call was made from Boston to New York.

· Mariah Carey and Fergie were both born on this day

Have a great weekend. Help your parents, grand parents and other loved ones the best you can under these challenging times.
