Mr. Elliott’s News Minute

Friday, April 24, 2020

It’s Friday

Students, the weekend is in sight. Stay productive today and use Saturday and Sunday to get caught up on anything that needs finished. Check your grades and missing assignments in Infinite Campus and reach out to teachers or other school personnel if you need help. Please know that we still have additional laptop computers for students to use, if needed. If you know of a friend who is having computer troubles and you can help reach out to us, on behalf of them, if would be most appreciated.

Senior Awards Ceremony

We will be unable to have our annual senior awards ceremony like we have in previous years at the Dyson-Baudo Recreation Center, on the campus of Marietta College.

This year’s ceremony will be virtual and will broadcast online. Multiple departments within the Career Center are working to produce, film and edit the many segments of our awards ceremony and combine them together for a final product. We will announce in advance the unveiling and streaming time(s) of our ceremony. Mrs. Duff will be creating a program and we will make sure every senior receives a copy. We are striving for the week of May 18-22, for our event, as had been previously announced. The Career Center will continue to provide updates as we get closer to finishing the video.

Prom

Our annual junior-senior prom has also, unfortunately, been cancelled. Because of the unknown circumstances of the coronavirus, a scheduled make-up date is not possible at this time. Should stay at home and social distancing measures take a huge, dramatic change, we will revisit the opportunity to host such a celebration.

Marietta Seniors-Cap & Gowns

Herff Jones will be at Marietta High School on April 30, on the Davis Side for a drive by cap/gown pick up for Marietta students from 2:00-5:00pm. Orders must be paid in full before pick up, and no money will be taken at this time. Should there be any questions, please contact Mrs. Brenda Martin in the guidance office at bmartin@mariettacsdoh.org.

Friday’s Playlist

Today’s playlist and selection of songs comes courtesy of Mrs. Gregory.

Many of you are going to love it.

Stay healthy and safe.
