Letter to Parents and Guardians

Dear Career Center Parents and Guardians,

In response to Governor DeWine’s announcement that all schools in Ohio close from March 16, to April 6, 2020, the Washington County Career Center has developed a plan to provide and support the continuation of the learning process. I want to take this opportunity to inform Career Center parents and guardians of this plan.

Our staff has been working diligently to prepare online lessons for our students.

Our teachers plan to fully utilize the internet as a means to provide this instruction. Beginning Thursday, March 19, these lessons will be available through student email accounts and Schoology. Every Career Center student has an individual email account and password. Please make sure your Career Center student is checking their email account on a daily basis.

Local cable companies throughout the county are offering free internet options for

non-cable subscribers to receive internet services. Please check with Suddenlink/Altice or Charter/Spectrum for such information.

Our IT department, consisting of Mr. Bradford and Mr. Lewis, has laptop computers available for students to borrow. Should your son or daughter need a computer, please contact these staff members at 740-373-2766, extensions 4110 or 4111.

During the time away from school, our food service vendor, AVI, has arranged for all Career Center students to receive free lunch. A boxed lunch will be available from

11:00 am-1:00 pm, Monday through Friday, at both Harmar and Washington Elementary Schools in Marietta.

We thank you in advance for your cooperation during these unique times.

Sincerely,

Dennis Blatt
