WCCC CDL Financial Assistance Grant

The CDL program financial assistance grant is available to Ohio residents enrolling in the CDL program.
The Washington County Career Center has joined with The Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE) for a student aid program for any Ohio resident enrolling in the CDL Class A or CDL Class A +Hazmat training program. This is a grant/forgivable loan program to assist Ohioan's who want to become commercial truck drivers and work for an Ohio-based company or be self-employed in the state of Ohio.
This grant-supported training is a 50% grant (the CDL program graduate does not have to pay back) and a 50% forgivable loan (if requirements are met in a predetermined time frame).
Student Eligibility Guidelines:
Must be an Ohio resident
Pass a DOT physical examination and drug test
Have no more than three moving violations in two consecutive years
Has not pleaded guilty or been convicted of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drug in the past 12 months.
Must attend a counseling session with financial aid upon entrance and exit from the CDL program
Does not have a current federal student loan in default
