Project WAVE is a transitional program for area youth with significant disabilities leading to employment outcomes.
Vision Statement
The Career Center and the Washington County Board of Developmental Disabilities provide a new option in transition services to students with significant disabilities throughout Washington County.
What Are Transition Services?
Educational services which focus on the students' vision of their future. Structures educational experiences designed to support the long term goals of employment, community participation and independent living.
How Can A Student Become Eligible For Project Wave?
- Students must be between 18 and 22 years of age and OEDI (Ohio Eligibility Determination Instrument) eligible.
- Have a desire to work in the community
- Be willing to use independent transportation options
- Meet all graduation requirements
- Have basic communication skills
- Have appropriate social, grooming and hygiene skills
- Be independent in feeding and toileting
- Have the ability to pass drug screen and criminal background checks
