Auto Mechanics & High Performance Engines
Because of its ASE certification, the Auto Mechanics program’s curriculum follows strict national guidelines.
The Auto Mechanics program prepares students to diagnose, adjust, repair, or replace the mechanical and electrical parts of an automobile. Because of the increasing sophistication of automobile technology, students are trained to use a variety of computerized shop equipment.
The High Performance Engines courses are an advanced level segment for those students who demonstrate high levels of achievement during their junior year in the mechanics program. Specialized skills include: camshaft selection & degreeing, chassis dyno testing, engine blueprinting, engine rebuilding, flow bench testing on heads, induction systems, utilization of precision measuring tools, and pocket porting heads.
