2009 - Cindy Hall

Cindy Hall is a 1982 Career Center graduate in the Business Education and Clerk Stenography program. She has worked as a legal secretary at Ellis & Ellis and as a corporate and senior secretary at Global Marine in Houston, Texas.

Upon returning to Ohio, she worked as a publisher/secretary at Deloitte & Touche LLP in Columbus and as a typesetter at the Parkersburg News & Sentinel. She has taken classes relevant to her occupation from Columbus State Community College and Washington State Community College.

In 1996, she began her career at Selby General Hospital. She began as the Administrative Assistant and was promoted to Human Resources Manager. As a part of the senior management, she is currently the Director of Human Resources for Selby General Hospital as part of the Marietta Health Systems. In addition, she is active in the coordination of the “Friends of Selby” volunteer program.

Hall is a member of the Sternwheel Festival Committee as a part of the Trustee Committee where she served as recording secretary, and is on the Program Committee where she is active in the Valley Gem race organization. She has been the administrative contact for the Career Center Project W.A.V.E. program and has been instrumental in its continuing success. Hall is an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

2008 - Jeff Lauer

As a 1974 graduate of the Auto Mechanics program, Jeffrey Lauer went directly into the armed services after high school. Lauer served our country in the United States army for four years and then continued his service in the Army Reserves for twenty years earning high levels of certification in chemical training. After his initial four-year stint, Lauer gained employment locally at Marietta Metals as a welder. When Marietta Metals closed their doors, Lauer began driving a bus for Marietta City Schools. In 1985, he secured full-time employment as a Marietta City Schools bus driver and in 2004, he became lead mechanic. He is a district bus driver trainer as well as a certified CDL testing official.

As a volunteer, Lauer was a major contributor in the refurbishing of Lawrence Elementary School. He is a member of the Frontier Board of Education and was appointed to represent the Career Center Board of Education. Lauer is a member of Eddy's Ridge Church of Christ, is an avid hunter, and enjoys his fmaily. His daughter Amanda and grandchild Krissy live in Parkersburg. Lauer resides in Moss Run with his wife Kristina and son William.
